FSRI - Part-time Bilingual Housing Navigator, Family Unification

Position Summary: Provides housing information, referral, advocacy, and support to housing insecure families referred to Family Service of RI by DCYF. Will aid families with locating housing units and working with landlords to secure appropriate eligible units. Assists with outreach and engagement to expand access to underserved communities in the Health Division continuum. Processes requests for security deposit assistance to provide needed support . Provides case management and triage to help clients address barriers to maintaining stable and safe housing.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in human/social service field or relevant field with one-year field experience preferred. In lieu of college degree, a high school diploma/equivalent with 4 years of case management or field experience required
- Experience providing housing support services within Rhode Island preferred
- Possession of valid drivers’ license, reliable transportation and proof of current automobile insurance required
- Must be agreeable to hybrid work environment and flexible scheduling to meet recipient needs
- Bilingual English/Spanish verbal and written required.
- FSRI includes pay incentives for bilingual staff.
- Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires a mix of at-home/virtual, office-based, and community visit work.
- Employees in this position must have the ability to travel to and from office sites and community locations which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.
- Employees must also have the ability to lift up to 20lbs
