FSRI - Outreach Specialist

Position Summary: This position serves to promote the Survivor Support Program (SSP) in the community and engage new participants in the program. The SSP provides trauma-focused, wrap-around services and short-term financial assistance to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault (D-IPV/SA) and other violent crimes who are now facing housing insecurity as a result of their victimization. The SSP recognizes that safe, stable housing is a key component to survivors’ road to healing, self-sufficiency and achievement of life goals.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree preferred. However, any combination of related education, experience, training and certifications/licensure will be considered. Individuals with lived experience STRONGLY encouraged to apply.
- Experience working with or volunteering/advocating for survivors required.
- Strong organizational and communication (i.e., written, verbal, and presentation) skills required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional early evening and weekend hours required to meet program needs.
- FSRI values staff with bilingual language capacity and familiarity with the local community they will be serving.
- FSRI includes pay incentives for bilingual staff.
- Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
- Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay
Physical Requirements: This position requires community visits. Employees in this position must:
- Travel to and from community locations and office sites, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators. Work may include standing/walking throughout the day.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation.
